Im not sure I have bipolar, yet I do experience certain happy moments that later go down hill and I crash into a tree.

if you truly think there is the potential it would be best to get a professional opinion. as much as i love to hate being bipolar it is part of me and it is somewhat better with medication. i guess

Personally I think bipolar is better than depression. Sounds weird to say but many artists and authors etc. made their greatest masterpiece in the overoptimistic period when they had this disorder. I think it's better to have bipolar than depression. With depression you are constantly thinking black but that's not the case with bipolar. The only bad thing about this energic period you have, would be that it doesn't last and throws you back on the ass.

I wished I could name the artists who had this problem... I am reading The Night Falls Fast by a woman with a really long name, she mentions a guy who was psychotic and lived in America, who was about to graduate. He too was bipolar which eventually led him to kill himself. He thought many great things of himself and everyone was happy and proud with this good side which showed. But the darkness of his mind he had himself facing, he kept to himself and continued to grieve over the fact he wouldn't make it to make his dream come true, to become this pilot he wanted to become. I guess when he was graduated, he finally realised he couldn't take it to live a lie, that he really had a disorder. I wonder if anyone heard of this story? I forgot his name.. but I can look it up.

i am sorry but i will have to disagree with the comparison of depression and bipolar. in theory it sounds great, but in reality when your mind is running so fast that you think it will smash into your skull it isn't cool anymore. then in an instant you feel like blowing your head off, and if you think of it before your mind totally crashes you actually stand a chance of succeeding. hope to have not offende too many people, but these two are like comparing an elephant to a zebra. they are both very different, but both are wild. thank you

Well, like you said, it was comparing a zebra to an elephant, everyone has a personal thing, so my earlier post what a personal opinion. I haven't experienced bipolar (or maybe I am unaware of its existence if I even have it but I strongly doubt I do) but like a cat and a lion have claws, I liked cats better. Bipolar had its good side, which was the great energy you sometimes had, but as depression, both were dark disorders with serious consequences.

they are both serious disorders i dont think any disorders should really be compared kinda like diffferent triggers like i could get upset if some stranger yells at me (another long story) and someone else wont get that worked up over that but could be upset if that stranger tries to hurt them (erm i think anyone would for that one) anyway i guess what im saying is that different people have different toleration levels and also different disorders could reck chaos in someone life

Mmm... I agree with you... Somehow they are both severe disorders and they are known for resulting into death.

bipolar is just the new name they came up with a few years ago. they are referring to the two different extremes (manic, and depressed).
